“Hello Volunteer” was established in January 2022 as a community of sports volunteers, following the Facebook group Tokyo 2020 Olympics/Paralympics Volunteers, which was established in October 2018 for volunteers of the Tokyo 2020 Games.
In line with the volunteer strategy of the Tokyo 2020 Games, its aim is to foster a culture of volunteering and to promote a society based on mutual support through volunteering. The group provides opportunities for volunteer participation by sharing various volunteer recruitment information and member’s experiences, not limited to the Tokyo 2020 Games. They also hold voluntary skills-up training sessions, aimed at improving volunteer skills and members’ leadership and follower skills in business.
In addition, “Hello Volunteer” offers volunteer consulting to organizations and events that have not previously utilized volunteers, and some members act as volunteer coordinators, leading volunteer recruitment, orientation, leader selection, and shift adjustment. “Hello Volunteer” contributes to the continued stable volunteer activities and improvement of volunteer quality while playing a role in passing down the volunteer legacy from the Tokyo 2020 Games to the next generation.
Our aim is to improve the quality of volunteer experiences, expand the base of volunteers, and promote awareness of sports volunteering through enhancing the skills of our volunteers. We strive to achieve a society of mutual assistance and coexistence supported by a culture of volunteering.
We have organized various skill-building workshops and events, such as the ones listed below. Since the spring of 2020, all events have been held online via Zoom due to the impact of COVID-19. If our members have new event proposals or requests, we will provide support as appropriate.
Please join the Facebook group Hello Volunteer. Announcements for skill-up training sessions, various events, and volunteer group entries are posted within this Facebook group.
